This is a picture of a blue duck. I made the duck blue because to be honest I'd never seen a blue duck before and I wanted to see one.

I think if a child made a duck blue it would show great outside the box thinking.

  1. This made me think of a quote from Ken Robinson's video in which he says "we don't grow into creativity, we grow out of it. Or rather, we get educated out if it." I like that you're of the school of thought that wants kids to express their creativity.

f the kids want to make a blue duck, who are we to tell them that they are wrong? Support the freedom to make ducks blue!

  2. Great comment and great quote, Brandon! I hope you put a link to Ken Robinson's talk on your blog. I am interested to know, Evan, how you made the duck. Is it a toy that you photographed and then adjusted somehow? Or a photograph that you found and altered? Or something that you formed out of modeling clay? Could we have a bit more information?

  3. I remember when I was 9 and I was taking a painting class, where we all had to paint wooden rabbits. I of course painted mine metallic purple, much to the dismay of everyone else in the class and the instructor. haha I said I didn't care if rabbits weren't actually purple. I liked mine that way. The expected is over-rated.
